Part whodunit, part sci-fi action adventure, Among Us is all fun. There is deception, laughs, and space chores. Being able to deduct whether the others working with you will help you to survive or murder you—well, that's kind of the point of the game. Critical Evaluation Among Us is a game of teamwork as well as a betrayal-based party game. Between four to ten explorers are on a spaceship. Crewmates are given tasks that need to be accomplished, but chances are, there is at least one imposter on board the ship, methodically taking crewmembers out. With the imposter sabotaging systems and working against the goals of the group, everyone else must work together to not only keep the ship going but to find out who is the suspicious person ruining the crew's chances. Emergency meetings can be called to discuss who is potentially guilty, and if the argument is persuasive enough, the group can vote to eject the suspect into lava or into space. If the imposters are discovered and dealt with, the crew wins. If the imposters are successful in sabotaging the ship and its crew, they win. Problem solving skills and teamwork are major focuses on Among Us, and the soundtrack is fittingly spacey and spooky. Innersloth is a small indie studio mainly based out of out of Washington, USA. Created in 2015, we worked part time on several unreleased games (we do not talk about “Poop Week”) until finally going full-time indie in late 2018 for Among Us. The Library supports diversity of expression and views in its collection in an attempt to provide patrons with a foundation for making informed decisions and formulating personal opinions. The Library does not exclude items because of the race, nationality, social, political, or religious views of the authors. The presence of controversial materials in the collection does not represent the Library’s endorsement of the opinions expressed therein. Although some materials selected may contain language and/or illustrations that may be offensive to some patrons, the Library cannot undertake the task of pleasing all individuals by censoring such items. Nevada County Library Reconsideration form Any citizen may challenge materials. If the citizen chooses to submit a written Request for Reconsideration of Library Materials, Library staff will collect reviews and accumulate data on how the material conforms to the selection policy. An ad hoc review committee consisting of the Library Director, Branch Manager, one other librarian, and a citizen appointed at the discretion of the Library Director will review the material, judge whether it conforms to the Selection Policy and submit its report in writing to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors. Concerned parties will be notified of the final decision in writing.
