Cooking Simulator Nintendo Switch ASIN: none Publisher: Forever Entertainment Copyright Date: 2020 Rated: E for Everyone Genre: Simulation/Arcade Mode: Single Player Summary Cooking Simulator is a skill simulation game where the player can gain experience points by preparing food in a professional kitchen. If that is not appealing, they can also get "creative" with cooking tools—fry on a bonfire of boxes, throw knives. Real physics has been incorporated into the game, so gravity can be your friend—or your nemesis. Critical Evaluation Simulator games are popular. Fans of the now classic Sim City or the Sims will attest that going through mundane tasks can be quite calming when in a simulated setting. Cooking Simulator is set in a professional kitchen, and players have access to the tools, ingredients, and minutia of items available within a typical kitchen. The physics of the game reflect reality, so players can pick up, drop, stack, and throw things just like they might wish to in the real world. Players also learn about the best techniques for buying ingredients for meals and will need to practice cutting and other skills just like in other simulation games. The soundtrack isn't anything remarkable, just a repetitive folk-sounding song in the background which neither adds nor subtracts from the atmosphere of the game itself, which is also pretty typical of simulator games. Maybe the best part for teens, when they get bored with the slicing, dicing, preparation, and cleaning, they can set things on fire or play darts with their knives, rather like how you could choose that an alien destroy your creation in Sim City. As a single player game, this option does not require more than one teen being willing to play at a time and might be a good option for those who tend to stay in the background during teamed video game play. Player’s Annotation You have a chef's kitchen and prepare amazing meals in Cooking Simulator, or you can just throw knives like darts. Your call. About the Developer
Forever Entertainment was founded by Zbigniew Dębicki in 2010. The company developed and published low-budget game series, including the Miś Uszatek children's game series; the Frederic rhythm game series; and the Sparkle arcade-logic series. Later titles, such as the 2017 science fiction adventure game Hollow, had higher production value. Forever Entertainment also handled console ports, such as those for Fear Effect Sedna in 2018.[3] The company began hosting projects for external entities, growing into one of the largest game publishers for the Nintendo Switch console. Some notable Switch titles include Thief Simulator and Green Hell.[3] In 2019, Forever Entertainment began plans to remake several 1990s "cult" games. The first, released in 2020 for various platforms, was Panzer Dragoon: Remake, a remaster of Sega's 1995 rail shooter Panzer Dragoon. A remake of the game's sequel under the name Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake is in development, as well as a remake of the 2000 action-adventure game Fear Effect, titled Fear Effect: Reinvented.[3] The company plans to release "at least" four remakes in 2021, along with three ports and self-made games.[4]. ALA Strategies and Tips for Dealing with Challenges to Library Materials ALA Bill of Rights on Intellectual Freedom The American Library Association affirms that all libraries are forums for information and ideas, and that the following basic policies should guide their services. Why Included This is a single player game, giving a teen who wants to spend some alone time with the Switch the power to do so. Simulator games are also popular, as evidenced by the ongoing success of the Sims. Because real physics are involved in gameplay, teens can also experience what it is like to be clumsy in the kitchen without the real mess or safety issues involved. |
